Liturgical Ministries

- Choir – Share the gift of your voice and elevate the experience of Mass for all who worship. The choir sings at the 11 am or 11:30 am Mass each Sunday, alternating between churches. Practice on Thursday evenings. Contact J.R. Daniels at [email protected].
- Lector – Proclaim the Word of God at Mass on Sundays and/or weekdays. Contact [email protected].
- Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion – Distribute Holy Communion at Mass. Contact [email protected].
- Usher – Welcome and direct Mass attendees and collect the Offertory.
- Church cleaning group – Show reverence to God by caring for the physical appearance and maintenance of our churches. Contact [email protected].

Service Ministries

- Homeless Shelter Meal – Join fellow parishioners to cook a meal for people experiencing food insecurity in our community. We serve at East End Cooperative Ministry in East Liberty. Contact [email protected].
- Hearts for Haiti – Help fundraise to provide annual teacher salaries at St. Antoine School in impoverished Fondwa, Haiti. Contact Pat Miller at [email protected].
- Homebound Ministry – Visit and build friendship with homebound parishioners, helping them feel connected to the parish. Contact [email protected].
- Ladies of Charity - Minister with other women to the spiritual and material needs of those who are ill, elderly or financially stressed. Contact Nan Pischke at [email protected].
- Mental Health Ministry – Walk with people living with anxiety, depression, or a mental illness, providing the support of a listening friend. Contact [email protected].
- Social Justice Committee - Advocate for increased awareness and implementation of social justice through Catholic Social Teaching. Meetings are on the first Tuesday of the month. Contact [email protected].
- St. Vincent de Paul Society – Provide individuals in our parish and community with assistance for paying a gas bill or rent or provide credit to St. Vincent de Paul store. Meets the second Wednesday each month in the Bishop Winter Room. Contact [email protected].
- Walking with Moms in Need- Increase outreach and support for pregnant and parenting mothers. Through annual fundraisers and volunteering, we support local pregnancy centers. Contact [email protected].

Hospitality Ministries

- Fish Fry – Help cook or serve fried fish dinners in the Sacred Heart School cafeteria during Lent. Contact Lisa Anselmo at [email protected].
- Relationship Ministry – Plan fun events and educational experiences that put people on a growth journey toward healthier relationships and more active participation in the church. Monthly planning meetings. Contact [email protected].
- Church Tours – Lead tours of Sacred Heart and St. Raphael churches, sharing our history and drawing attention to the art and architecture that make our buildings unique.
- Hospitality – Greet at Masses, or coordinate opportunities for parishioners to come together for fellowship and sharing food. Contact [email protected].
- Parish Festival – Contribute to the success of our annual parish festival at the beginning of August. Many volunteer roles are available from flea market, games, food, entertainment, set-up, planning, and more. Contact Vicki Crowley at [email protected].

Faith Journey Ministries

- Baptismal Preparation – Host in your home and/or teach a monthly class to prepare parents whose children will be baptized. Contact Colleen Derda at [email protected].
- Bible Study – Discuss scripture each Friday morning at 10 AM in the Bishop Winter Room (except during the summer months). Contact Pat Miller at [email protected].
- Centering Prayer Group - Silent contemplation, lectio divina, group sharing and spontaneous prayer. Meets Thursday evenings, 7:00-8:30 pm in the Bishop Winter Room.
- Knights of Columbus – Connect with Catholic men as we live our faith at home, in the parish, at work, and in the community. We gather monthly for Rosary, fellowship, and planning. Contact [email protected].
- Men’s Fellowship – First Friday of the month Adoration and fellowship at 5:00 am at St. Raphael, occasional group studies, annual men’s retreat. Contact Deacon Bill Hahn at [email protected]. St. Jude Men’s Retreat, Pilgrims of Hope, will be offered March 7-9, 2025 at St. Paul of the Cross Monastery. Retreat contact: Gary Moshier, [email protected].
- Seekers Group – A small group meets in a parishioner’s home to discuss scripture, pray together, and share faith experiences. Contact Jack Porter: [email protected].
- Women’s Ministry – Through hospitality and fellowship, women support each other in walking through life through the lens of faith. Contact [email protected].
- Young Adult Group - Young adults gather for faith sharing, scripture reading, social activities, and service projects. Contact [email protected].
